Arnold W. McKibben, 87, of Burlington, died at 10:55 AM Thursday, April 16, 2009, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born September 19, 1921, in Burlington, he was the son of Lee and Martha Elizabeth Kobus McKibben. On December 25, 1941, he married Norma Frances Lee in Burlington. |
Arnold was a machine operator at Leopold Desk Co. for 43 years. He retired in 1982.
He was a 1963 graduate of Burlington High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WW II with the 60th Signal Battalion 9th Army in the South Pacific. He was of the protestant faith. He liked to watch college football and was an avid wrestling fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. |
Survivors include wife, Norma; two daughters, Sandra Kay (Robert) Voigt of Alvin, TX, and Jodonna Lee (Raymond Jr.) Cooley of the Kansas City Area; one grandson, Robert Voigt, Jr.; two step grandchildren, Joseph Cooley and Raymond Cooley III; four step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Thelma "Cookie" McKibben of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers. |
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service for Mr. McKibben will be 10:00 AM Monday, April 20, 2009, at the Chapel of the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home with Chaplain Randy Gearhart officiating. Interment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard.
A memorial has been established for the Great River Hospice House. |
