Dale Howard Anderson, 85, of Burlington, died at 4:00 AM Friday, May 8, 2009, at his home in Burlington.

Born May 8, 1924, in Mediapolis, IA, he was the son of Joseph and Esther Youngberg Anderson. On May 2, 1948, he married Mary Ann Bacher in Burlington.
|
He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for many years.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the World War II.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and the V.F.W.. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed walking, reading, and computers.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

As per the request of Mr. Anderson, there will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded.
The Graveside Committal Service and Inurnment for Mr. Anderson will be 10:00 AM Monday, May 11, 2009, at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Reverend Carl J. Engstrom officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Bethany Lutheran Church.
