Matthew Barton Waggoner, 36, of Burlington, died Monday, June 14, 2010, at his home.

Born October 1, 1973, in Burlington, he was the son of Arthur Lee and Sandra Carole Walker Waggoner. On November 14, 2003, he married Lindy Breann Smith in Burlington.
|
He was a 1991 graduate of Fort Madison High School.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Madison and was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed cooking, reading, video games, cats and his children.

Survivors include his wife, Lindy; his father, Art Waggoner of Camanche, CO; his mother, Sandra Waggoner of Fort Madison; two sons, Richard and Kyle and two daughters, Catherine and Victoria all at home; one brother, Andrew Waggoner of Bettendorf, IA; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

As per the request of Mr. Waggoner, cremation has been accorded.
A memorial service will be held will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at First United Methodist Church in Fort Madison.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for his children.
